We invite you to a remarkable evening of music featuring artists from Ukraine on Monday, JULY 3 at 730 PM at Lutheran Church of the Cross [10620 Elbow Drive SW].

ANNA POMPEEVA, Soprano, graduated from the Kharkiv National Kotlyarevsky University of the Arts and was the winner of the Grand Prix at the International Vocal Competition in Crimea.

OKSANA YAREMCHUK, Pianist, graduated from the Kyiv Musical Academy and is well known for her work as a collaborative pianist with both singers and instrumentalists.

Guest artist VITALIIA VASH is from Irshava, Ukraine. She graduated from the Conservatory in Prague and was Laureate of an international competition in Sweden.

Anna and Oksana will present an evening of well-known arias from operas by Puccini, Verdi, Dvorak, Gounod, and from Gershwin's Porgy and Bess. Vitaliia will join Anna in some of the works in the program. The program will be approximately 70 minutes in length.

These three exceptional artists have recently moved to Calgary from Ukraine. We are asking for your help to welcome them to our community and to uplift them by giving them the opportunity to share their musical gifts with us. The chance to share their music-making is an important affirmation to them during these very challenging days as they transition to life in Canada. Your presence is an important and essential component in helping them establish themselves here.
