OCTOBER: Catherine Glaser-Climie Awarded Field Medal by The Order of St George
We want to say a most proud congratulations to our Founder and Artistic Director Catherine Glaser Climie who has been dubbed a Field Dame in the Order of St George!
The Order of St. George is a Chivalric Order whose Mission is “to better the health and well-being of members of the Canadian Armed Forces, Veterans and their families, and supports the Cadets and Junior Canadian Rangers Programs.”
Individuals who have made a meaningful contribution to their community, on recommendation by the Prior to the Grand Prior, are recognized as a Field Dame or a Field Knight by being dubbed and awarded The Order of St. George Field Medal.
Catherine has committed a lifetime of work to stewarding The Commitment to Remember in numerous communities including her work with Cantare Children’s Choir, Field of Crosses Memorial Project, and the Order of St George. Cantare was thrilled to already be scheduled to sing for the investiture, a thrill made even greater with the surprise that Catherine’s name was on the list of names being honoured!
The Field Medal is comprised of a silver medallion with the inscription “International Knightly Order of St. George” around its circumference, with the Canadian maple leaf centered at the bottom. Central is a relief of St. George defeating the dragon. This medallion is suspended from a red ribbon approximately 1″ in width.
Congratulations, Field Dame Catherine Glaser-Climie, well deserved!!
Congratulations Holly Hykawy!

In addition to her work within Cantare to further the Commitment to Remember, she has been an instrumental organizer for the Calgary’s Air Cadets, congratulations Holly!
